Goodbye Barrett Domain

Our last trip to the Barrett Domain, possibly ever....

This time there were horses from the Riding for the Disabled stables in the paddock.  One, with weird grey eyes, was particularly friendly.


The birds on the lagoon got very excited when we arrived, but very disappointed when we didn't feed them anything.


We think this is a scaup

And this might be a tui nest.  There is a head sticking out of what looks like a nest, below the right-hand bird.




Stargazing

Monday night was a good night for looking at the stars. 



We were lucky enough to see Saturn.  It was nicely positioned so that we could see the 2 separate rings and the gap between the rings and the ball of the planet.  We also saw Jupiter and 3 of its moons, as well as Mars.  Bryony has been trying to take photos through the telescope but it's pretty tricky.
